If you remember way back in 2015, I proudly announced I had joined an organization called Fashion Group International – San Antonio with the mission of designing the future of fashion in San Antonio. 4 years later, this passion project has come a long way. We’ve planned event after event, spoken with hundreds of people, and launched the Rising Stars Awards. Last year, I also had the opportunity to attend the FGI NYC’s annual conference, prior to becoming Regional Director of the San Antonio chapter this year. My second trip to NYC was just as invigorating and exciting as the last, and I’m so excited for what the future holds for FGI San Antonio.
The conference in New York is a complete whirlwind. With workshops and speakers jam-packed into every day, I always leave feeling inspired and motivated beyond belief. This year’s topics included the future of retail real estate, voice technology, and style forecasts that made me want to revamp my entire closet. It’s unbelievable, and FGI San Antonio was even honored with a Merit Award for our Model San Antonian event last May for the Tricentennial! Taking the helm of FGI San Antonio this year has been a monumental task, but our board is working tirelessly day in and day out. We’re especially thrilled to celebrate FGI San Antonio’s 30th anniversary on September 7th at the Pearl Stable! Be sure to save the date!
Suffice to say my experience with FGI these past 4 years has been extraordinary, and I wouldn’t be where I am in my career without the connections and conversations I’ve had because of the organization. Now we’re having one of our biggest events to date for FGI San Antonio tomorrow (or today depending on when you’re reading this), and you’re invited! Headshot Happy Hour is taking place at Ivy Hall (located behind the all-new Good Kind Southtown by Tim the Girl) and we have over 17 sponsors lined up to provide hair, makeup, styling, photography, and shopping experiences like never before!
