It’s no secret that we’re on the market for a new family vehicle, especially since the last time we purchased one Cora wasn’t even born yet! When Buick reached out to send us an Encore GX to test drive for a week, I knew the girls would love this stylish and spacious family SUV. I also knew I have several mom friends who are on their 2nd or even 3rd Buick Encore, they love them so much!

The final bonus was our week with the Buick Encore just happened to coincide with the week the girls and I were doing a holiday photo shoot with Lili Alessandra, so the family car provided the smoothest and most fashionable transportation to the shoot we could have imagined!

The Encore GX is positioned between the smaller Encore and the larger Envision and Enclave models. It offers new standard safety technologies* and its style and functionality will be just right for many of today’s buyers, including our family of four.

“As we look to the future of Buick, the Encore GX positions us strongly as a consideration for those who want to purchase small or compact SUVs,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC. I loved the Amazon Alexa compatability, and the easy to use Wifi Hotspot for virtual learning. The girls discovered the KidzBop station on Sirius XM within ten minutes of receiving the Encore GX, and the channel rarely changed after that.

Today, almost 90 percent of U.S. Buick sales come from SUVs.

The Encore GX’s new standard safety and driver assistance features* includes Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. It also offers the Enclave’s innovative Rear Camera Mirror, which provides a wide, less obstructed rear view while parking and driving, and High Definition Surround Vision camera system.

At one point during our test drive, the Encore GX actually detected that we were rapidly approaching a truck at a stoplight and automatically applied the brakes for us, surprising everyone in the vehicle. I was grateful for the added safety feature, and could see it preventing plenty of accidents! I also utilized the automatic charging station for my phone, conveniently tucked underneath the main control screen so my phone was out of sight, out of mind for distraction-free driving.

Its spirited and efficient performance is paired with a purposefully designed cargo space that’s almost 5 cubic feet larger than the Encore and about 3 cubic feet smaller than the Envision. We fit boxes for errands, clothes for the photo shoot, pumpkins for fall decorating, and so much more in the cargo space with no problem at all!

The girls had plenty of space in the back, and that’s saying something with our family’s reputation for long legs. We arrived at the photo shoot in style and the parking assistance cameras make it so easy to feel good about finding the perfect spot! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time with the 2020 Buick Encore GX, and I now understand why they’re official hashtag is #ThatsABuick!

The photo above is what you get when you take two spunky girls to a photo shoot and let them get their hair and makeup done. Can you say DIVA status? ????
