When I was a new mom still nursing my one and only daughter, Cora, bedtime was as simple as 2 + 2. Bath, pajamas, nurse, sleep. That was pretty much the extent of it. The older she got, though, and with the addition of her little sister, there’s now what often seems like a full 2-HOUR process that begins after dinner and lasts well past their supposed “bedtime” most nights. There’s the bath, which now involves precisely which toy is their absolute favorite (and thereby most difficult to find) at the moment. There’s the pajama selection process, heaven forbid the chosen nightgown be in the dirty clothes. Then there’s the book, the podcasts (not kidding), and the hair brushing routines that drag things out even further.

But perhaps the most dreaded of bedtime routines, nay, personal hygiene routines in general that plague most parents, including myself, is the brushing of the teeth. If it’s not the complaints about the taste of the toothpaste, it’s using entirely TOO MUCH toothpaste. If it’s not the lying about who did or did not actually brush their back molars, it’s the cleaning up of the very liberally disposed of spit in the sink. It’s not a fun task in the dutiful procession to sleepy time, and I have often wished for a simpler alternative that my girls could do (more or less) by themselves.

AutoBrush

It turns out the AutoBrush was the solution to all my teeth brushing woes, including my own! They sent our entire family (Dad included!) a model of our own to test out, and I haven’t heard a peep from my kids when I ask them to brush their teeth since. These automatic electric toothbrushes contain silicone bristles along an easy to use mouth piece that vibrates at a high frequency to remove harmful bacteria with ease. To use, you simply add a bit of AutoBrush (or your favorite brand) foaming toothpaste to the mouthpiece. When you turn on the vibrations, it helps to move the AutoBrush back and forth a couple times before simply letting it work it’s magic.

I am able to use my AutoBrush even with my braces, and Orlando and I have both found that it’s a perfect solution on those busy days when it seems you don’t even have a spare minute to brush your teeth. You can use the AutoBrush while you’re doing your hair, makeup, getting dressed, anywhere and everywhere with a sparkling clean mouth to show off after zero effort. Talk about efficiency!
