In the dog days of summer, there are limited options when it comes to kid-appropriate activities in San Antonio. Past 10 am you can hardly be outside, the pool can only provide so much entertainment, and there are only so many episodes of My Little Pony on Netflix. I know, I’ve seen them all. But the perks of being a blogger’s kid are many, and this past week Cora and Issa had the opportunity to attend the Grand Re-Opening of Chuck E. Cheese’s in Stone Oak! It was the perfect way to beat the heat, finish summer with a bang, and have some gloriously air-conditioned fun.

If you live in the 1604/281 area, you may have seem some dust and construction happening around the store in recent months, and I’m happy to say the wait has been well worth it! The new store concept is the first of its kind in the country, and features a huge dance floor, open kitchen, and fantastic dining options. We were able to learn some pizza-making tips from Chef Pasqually himself, and seeing all of the characters, including Chuck E. Cheese, brought back so many memories from my childhood.

Of course once our pizzas were in the oven we had some time to kill, so the games and photo booth provided endless entertainment. I love that Chuck E. Cheese’s utilizes the card passes, so no more awkwardly handling coins. The girls were able to each carry their own cards, and picked up how to scan them for each game right away! Cora and Issa have absolutely picked up on their parents’ competitive instincts, so I appreciated that a lot of the games had a two-person element so no sibling was left behind.

The new store concept also features an open layout so we were able to see our pizzas being made right before our eyes, an added reassurance that they are fresh from the oven! And naturally delicious. 🙂 The girls loved seeing their names next to their pizzas, and I loved that they actually ate every bite!

Chuck E. Cheese

Chuck E. Cheese’s has been the place a kid can be a kid for over 40 years, but I’m so glad to see they’re changing to the times and giving parents exactly what they want: fresh food, clean fun, and lots of smiles all around!
