I think the majority of folks who know my husband Orlando, are pretty aware that he’s a confident guy. He is often the best in the room at sports, style, and a whole host of other skills. When we met, in fact, he was far more adventurous in the fashion department than I was. And I wrote a whole blog post on why being married to a metrosexual man is the best. He has NO problem being pampered, and could care less what anyone thinks. So there was no hesitation on my end when The Gents Place reached out to treat him to a bit of a spa day on his most recent trip back home to visit us.

If you’re new here, Orlando plays basketball professionally in Mexico, and the girls and I traveled with him up until our oldest Cora started Kindergarten. Now we stay in San Antonio full time while he travels back and forth as much as he can. So when he’s here, we clear our schedules and it’s all about him. Even more so this trip when he had a couple hours to enjoy the 7-course Hair Service, save the actual hair cut as he’s extremely loyal to his usual barber. He thoroughly enjoyed the other 6 courses though, from the rejuvenating paraffin hand dip and hand massage, to the energizing shampoo and conditioning. He also basked in the glory of an invigorating scalp massage, face refresher, and steamed towel, as you can see in the photos above.

A quick neck, shoulder, and hand massage followed by a hot lather neck shave concluded the service, but The Gents Place is actually conducive to enjoying their facilities long after your service has ended. There’s a liquor cabinet rented per locker, comfy recliners in a private lounge, and a full bar alongside a wide line-up of product offerings. Perhaps most impressive was the shoe shine service, complimentary once a month with any membership, and for a nominal annual fee you can have unlimited shoe shines with drop off service for bright and shiny boots all year long. We’ve tried other men’s grooming salons before, but The Gents Place seems to have truly stepped it up a notch when it comes to socializing for the sophisticated man.

I also loved that the company had just concluded a professional clothing drive for veterans, with rows of snazzy suits and shoes lining the windowed front wall of the salon. I was impressed that they’re asking men to give, as much as they receive at The Gents Place. Like most men, Orlando works so incredibly hard and doesn’t always make time for deep breaths and relaxation, so his time in the care of the kind staff at The Gents Place was very much well-deserved. As soon as he’s back in town, I have no doubt he’ll be a regular passing through their doors, especially since they’re just up the road from us in Leon Springs. They’re growing incredibly fast as well, so check out their locations on their website and find out if there’s a Gents Place near you!

XO,

A
