Fall 2020 is almost upon us and for many of us that will mean updating our wardrobes. If you want to ensure you look amazing and on-trend this fall season, here’s what you’ll want to have in your wardrobe…

Fringe

Every Texas girl is familiar with fringe – the hallmark of a good country music artist – but you don’t have to be sitting around singing about heartbreak to embrace this trend because fashion houses like Veneta, Fendi, and Prada have put fringe at the forefront of fall fashion in 2020. From cute fringed denim skirts and practical (but pretty) cowboy boots to swishy fringed dress and bags, and even fringed pants, if your clothing isn’t moving in the breeze this fall, chances are you won’t be completely fashion fit.

A Beautiful Ball Gown

This fall season’s party dress is undoubtedly the ball gown – a style that was seen on all the major fall fashion catwalks this year. So, if you want to look amazing when the weather starts to change, think taffeta; think voluminous skirts; think puffy sleeves, and you’ll be on the right track.

If you really want to nail this trend, choose ball gown inspired outfits in neon shades or which feature super long trains – have some fun with it, don’t be afraid to stand out, and wear it with confidence!

Opera-Style Gloves

Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Anna Sui is championing full-length, formal style opera gloves for fall 2020. Not the kind of things that you see many people wearing on their crisp fll walks, you’re sure to stand out if you put on a pair, but that’s what fashion’s all about, right? Pair with a little black dress or a short-sleeved blouse for a dramatic look that you’re going to love.

Statement Collars

Statement collars – collars that no one could fail to notice – are set to be big news this fall thanks to the likes of Emilia Wickstead and Alberta Ferretti. What are statement collars? They’re big collars; collars that are adorned with jewels or delicate detailed embroidery. They’re made in sharp angles or cut in an unusual way. Most importantly, they have the ability to elevate pretty much any outfit to the next level, so make sure you have a few of them ready and waiting in your wardrobe.

Eye-Popping Pink

Your usual wardrobe of fall blacks, browns, burnt oranges and subtle reds isn’t going to cut it in 2020. This is the year of bold, bright pinks and Fuschia hues that will brighten up the darkest fall day and ensure that you stand out from the crowd. Wear in the form of a coat if you want to go all-in, or accessorize with a pink scarf and gloves if you’re looking to wear this trend more subtly, but make sure you wear it!

Puff Sleeves

Puff sleeves might have been big in the 80s, but they’re set to be just as big again this fall. The difference being that this time, instead of being soft and feminine, they’re going to be harsher, more structures, and an even bigger statement piece. They may look a little intimidating, but when you wear them, you’ll feel strong, confident, and extremely fashionable!

Everything Matching

There’s something extremely pleasing about outfits that match from head to toe. There’s a certain symmetry and a very real sense of being put together when you wear them, but it’s 2020 and traditional twin sets are most definitely out so what’s a girl to do? Embrace this fall’s trend for matching sets where designers will be releasing everything from jumpers and jackets to skirts and pants that all use the same prints and patterns. Dress your way, but make it match.

Block Colors

Color blocking has always come in and out of fashion over the years and right now it is firmly back in. Fashion houses including Hermes, Gucci, and Carolina Herrera have all embraced this simple trend and you can too by investing in a few quality pieces in your favorite primary colors and wearing them together. You can break your block outfits up by using contrasting color belts, shoes, and bags if you want to further improve the look, and one thing’s for sure – it’ll keep the blues away!

Bold Plaids

Everyone from Burberry to Shrimps has been working hard to bring out a new range of pretty, bright plaids for the fall season. The ideal way to wear yorur plaids is by taking inspiration for the 90s grunge scene and being unafraid to team a pretty plaid skirt with a slightly worn jumper or shirt. Team with a pair of chunky boots and black tights and you’ll look effortlessly cool.

Capes

Is there anything more dramatic than a cape? I doubt it, so it’s not surprising that capes have made a resurgence with brands like Celine and Givenchy leading the way. Ideal for keeping you warm when there’s a chill in the air, capes can enhance any fall outfit, and you can wear them in a multitude of ways from the sweeping drama of a full-length garment to the cute simpleness of a shortie cape that lets your outfit remain fully on show while keeping the wind off your back.

French Bourgeois

If you’re looking to really shake things up this fall, you’re going to want to experiment with the popular French Bourgeois style that Miu Miu and Chloe are loving right now. How do you achieve the look? With lots of sumptuous tailoring, fitted skirt suits, soft gauzy blouses and ruffles, and bows aplenty. Think modern Marie Antoinette and you won’t go far wrong.

Leather

Oh, and if you want to add a little leather to your French aristocratic kook, you’ll still be bang on trend because everyone from Hermes to Khaite has been pushing the leather look or late 2020. To get it right, you’re going to want to wear as much quality black leather as you can – literally if you can wear it from head to toe you’ll be getting it right.

Embrace any and all of the above trends and you’ll be one of the best-dressed women this fall for sure.
