The most fashionable time of year is finally upon us, y’all. The season for layering, texture, and a bit of excess is fall, and the trend forecasters at Neiman Marcus are already hard at work to give the stylish woman everything she needs for a fabulous wardrobe. PR Manager Xitlalt Herrera-Salazar recently hosted a trends fashion show to showcase the must-have looks for when the temperatures (finally!) start to drop in South Texas, and you get to see them here first!
1. Folkloric
All the tribal and bohemian looks for summer can now transition into cooler temperatures with folkloric layering and rich hues. Think gypsy meets luxury. Jewelry is begging to be piled on in arm parties, necklace menageries, and playful twists on the ears.
And you can have some fun with footwear too, as we see here with this studded suede boot.
2. Fun fur and wide leg pants.
I’m still nervous to dip my recently pregnant toe in the flare jean pool, but these looks from Neiman Marcus have just about convinced me. If you’re in the market for a new pair of work or casual pants, you can’t go wrong with a bold tweed print, or a washed denim 70’s flare. Wear with platforms for extra long legs. And whatever your stance on fur, designers are giving us plenty of options with real and faux designs, including this super chic stole that would be perfect for a night at the Tobin Center.
3. Deep reds.
The color of the year is, of course, Marsala, but it really comes into its own for fall. Find it in accessories, and give it a royal touch with a fun ear cuff. Opaque tights let the shade shine, and using it in multiple pieces throughout an ensemble deepens the already rich feel.
4. Winter whites
I’m SO glad this trend is here to stay. White is the perfect way to stand out in winter, especially in South Texas when things can start to feel a little brown and dreary. Freshen things up with a crisp coat and dramatic silhouettes that will offset an otherwise simplistic outfit. And if you’re a mom, pray hard that little ones will refrain from grape juice or crayons while you’re rocking this look. 😉
