I’ve come to discover in recent weeks that The Lincoln Motor Company is one of the classiest around, y’all. They gave us the grand opportunity to test drive the 2018 Lincoln Navigator for a few days, and were 100% on board with our idea to use the gorgeous set of wheels to traverse the city doing Random Acts of Kindness. Then this past week we received the email to end all emails: would we like to be flown to LA to attend the world premiere of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator?

I swear that little white line is the Hollywood sign.

I swear that little white line is the Hollywood sign.

Why YES. Yes, we would. My BFF Tori of The sTORIbook and I cleared our schedules, kissed our kiddos, and jetted off for an incredible 24 hours in the City of Angels. We soaked up literally every minute feeling like the luckiest girls in the world, and of course now I have to share the trip with all of you!

We started off enjoying a rooftop breakfast at our accommodations for the evening, the Dream Hollywood Hotel. After checking into our rooms, Lincoln whisked us away to the press briefing for the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Keep in mind all the photos you’ll see in this post are of the preproduction model with optional features shown, and the Aviator will be available in Summer 2019.

President of Lincoln, Joy Falotico, kicked things off with a purview of the Lincoln brand DNA. My little PR heart was happy to hear her speaking about their brand essence of “Quiet Flight” and how it pertains to everything they do.  Lincoln, she said is at a turning point, and they know who they are. From the looks of the 2020 Aviator, I’d say that could not be more true.

This luxury 3-row SUV has the highest form and function of anything on the market today, and every detail has been meticulously analyzed to perfection. Lincoln Design Director David Woodhouse shared with us the S curve along the SUV’s side panels were designed to play on light, and they focused on addressing the entire client journey in their efforts. Their goal, he said, was to make the client’s life easier, more effortless. This can be achieved through the Lincoln Co-Pilot360™ Plus driver-assist technologies, like Adaptive Cruise Control and Active Park Assist; and the idea of making the vehicle a mobile sanctuary.

So what are two best friends to do after a whirlwind press briefing and an afternoon to spare? Why take a motor side car tour of Venice Beach, of course! As if Tori and I don’t get into enough craziness in San Antonio, we thought we’d take it up a notch and have a local tour us around the California paradise. Our lives typically revolve around play dates and conference calls, so this was a welcome change of pace. My sister Hadley was our travel planner extraordinaire, and found this amazing gem of an activity with less than 24 hours’ notice!

Back to the hotel for the evening, we were told to expect a private dinner and performance. We discovered the 2020 Aviator was placed on the rooftop by crane, and then surrounded by lavish tablescapes and stylish guests for the evening’s entertainment. Once again, the entire Lincoln team was gracious and warm sharing their latest innovations and passion behind the 2020 Aviator, and conversation flowed freely from automotive trends to blogger’s discussing Instagram best practices. I have to say the diversity of the influencers present for this trip was rather delightful. Each one had a fascinating story, a strong sense of professionalism, and nary an ego in sight. Refreshing to say the least!

As the curtain prepared to drop on the 2020 Aviator one more time, we were treated to a performance by members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, who performed an original piece inspired by the strength and beauty of the all new SUV. The orchestra was also commissioned by Lincoln to create true musical tones for the warning signals of the vehicle, rather than the standard mechanical tones of most models. Alongside the symphony were the Hiplet Ballerinas, an intentional representation of the 2020 Aviator’s unexpected combinations.

From start to finish, the trip was a massive high of emotions, from meeting famed rower Meghan O’Leary (who was in a Lincoln commercial by the way) to enjoying a fabulous four-course dinner on top of one of the most phenomenal hotels in Hollywood. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the entire team at Lincoln for including Tori and myself in the festivities. The 2020 Aviator will be available in Summer 2019, and I will be cheering it on from this moment forward for all its intricacies, hybrid capabilities, and streamlined gorgeousness.

XO,

A
