A Hoosier at heart, Memorial Day weekend for me means the Indianapolis 500, in addition to the traditional family cookouts, trips to the lake, and the shameful amount of eating. If you’ve never been to the race, I truly feel it’s one of those “Bucket List” moments in life, and you simply have to experience it to know what I’m talking about. The roar of the engines, the smell of the track, people bustling in and out of the infield, drunk beyond belief. When it comes to style, casual and comfy rule, since temperatures tend to rise during the race. However, it is certainly still possible to be cute with that unmistakable American flare. Since I wasn’t able to attend this year, I’ve put together a little outfit that reminds me of what Memorial Day’s all about: short shorts and American pride.

How cute is that jumper? If you’ll be poolside the statement ring is the perfect addition that won’t drag you down. Most importantly, take time today to celebrate with family and remember those in the military who are fighting to keep us safe. Trends may come and go, but serving one’s country is always in style.
