When you grow up in a family with six children, there are going to be a lot of events throughout your lives together. Weddings, graduations, babies, new jobs, birthdays, and everything in between all require their own special celebration, and since I’m the oldest we’re really just getting warmed up. The unfortunate part is, since I live the furthest away, I end up either showing up just in time for the party or missing it altogether. But since my brother has gotten engaged, I got just a smidge more involved for the bridal shower thanks to Minted!

Minted bridal shower

We hosted the garden-themed shower at our Aunt Vickie’s house, which just so happens to have the most beautiful outdoor living area you’ve ever seen. As in, literally “featured in magazines” gorgeous. She is also the most gracious and generous host, and happily offered her home for the Sunday afternoon so we could shower Corbin’s fiancé Jess with love before her big day. Handmade decorations added a bit of whimsy and fun to the already beautiful grounds, and the wedding colors blended seamlessly with the natural backdrop.

Jess’ family came down from Illinois and it was so fun to see two families getting to know each other. My mom has started planning our showers, both baby and bridal, as open houses, so there’s no formal sit-down games or stiff moments of opening presents. Rather, folks are welcome to come and go as they please, spending a few moments to visit with the happy couple and mingling with other guests while they enjoy light bites and sips.  My job was keeping the food fully stocked, which turned out to be a busy task considering we have a large crew who also loves to eat. Jess’ mom also brought some family favorite cookies to share with guests, and her homemade fudge went like hot cakes!

When Minted reached out a few months ago asking how we could partner together, it was an easy choice to select bridal shower invitations from their fabulous selections. The themes were varied and the colors were plentiful, but it was so fun to see which style Jess preferred above all. She had the difficult task of choosing between a million options, including their stunning Foil-pressed wedding stationery, Letterpress Bridal Stationery, and Minted Wedding Decor.

Coming into a family with a lot of strong women must be a bit intimidating, but Jess has learned to make her own style known rather effortlessly. I love that she selected these Rain Catcher Bridal Shower Invitations that blended so nicely with their rustic wedding theme and Aunt Vickie’s garden oasis. With all the chic independent artist-created designs, a Minted bridal shower was the perfect way to welcome her to our family with just the right amount of chic and simplicity!

Once the invitations were ordered, Minted delivered them right to my mom’s door, despite me being thousands of miles away in San Antonio. I really felt a part of the process, even though I wasn’t physically there to help prepare beforehand. Minted sent envelopes as well, so a quick afternoon of packaging and addressing envelopes was all it took to send them on their way. Next go around, perhaps for Kelsey’s baby shower, I think we might even use their self-addressing option for even more ease!
