I confess I am no expert on the latest nail shades, technologies, or collections, but I have heard of OPI‘s shatter craze, and when I discovered their Pirates Of The Caribbean shades, as well as a new silver shatter, I must confess I found it rather news-worthy.  Although news of the collection broke earlier this year, the six shades and new shatter have just become available in stores.  My monthly Ulta mailing featured them, but make sure to call your local store or salon to insure they received a shipment.

The shades are surprisingly tame, featuring pastels and a pretty sage color.  The silver shatter is what really kicks it up a notch, in my opinion, and I love how it looks paired with the pale pink option, “Steady As She Rose”.  If you’ve been a little intimidated by the black shatter and don’t want your boss looking down her nose at you, the silver shatter may be a viable option.  Glam without being goth is always a solid manicure choice. 🙂  What do you think of the colors?

From left to right: Sparrow Me The Drama, Steady As She Rose, and Skull & Glossbones.  Can you picture the “Steady As She Rose” with the silver shatter now?  I’m a sucker for girly and glitter, so I can just imagine the pair perfectly complementing each other, not to mention matching almost EVERY outfit of mine.

And the real game-changer: the Silver Shatter.  OPI is also set to release five more shatter shades this month, some in conjunction with Serena Williams’ “Glam Slam” collections.  The shades will include red, white, turquoise, blue, and navy.  The navy in particular has me excited, I can’t wait to pair it with a pretty beige, or even a white base coat.  Until then, the Pirates of the Caribbean options will certainly keep me busy.
