If you’ve been following along on Instagram, there’s probably very little chance that you could have missed the photos of my sister getting married last week.  Orlando had to tell me to stop, that’s how many pictures I was posting.  But it was just too irresistible and the day was simply too sweet.  My sister looked stunning as expected, and there were zero hiccups to speak of.  Except maybe the part where Cora spilled Gatorade on her flower girl dress 10 minutes before the ceremony.  Who gave my kid Gatorade and Oreos 10 minutes before the ceremony?! Oh, yeah, that was me.  Seriously, I would have chopped off my own arm if it meant that she stayed happy enough to walk down the aisle.  Gatorade and Oreos seemed like small potatoes to let me keep all my limbs.

The super suave dudes at ISPhotographic were Kelsey’s photographers for the day, and I have to say they did a fantastic job.  They were both cool as cucumbers the day of, and they took just enough beautiful wedding photos to get it right, but not so much that Kelsey and Jeff missed out on their big day. This is just a tiny sampling of their gallery, so if you want to check out the whole kit and kaboodle just click here, click on “register”, and when you get to the Sobol wedding page enter “Sobol14” for access. Enjoy all the eye candy below, courtesy of ISPhotographic!

hair

I warned you she was gorgeous! Why didn’t I get that curly hair?! I love this candid shot, and it truly shows how relaxed Kelsey was that day.  “Just ready to be married,” she kept saying.  Not a doubt in her mind or a butterfly in her stomach.  Well, maybe a couple butterflies. 🙂

So how did that Gatorade and Oreo strategy work out for us, you ask?  Surprisingly well, actually!  Cora walked down the aisle with just the slightest perplexed look on her face, as if she couldn’t quite figure out why everyone was staring at her.  I also spent my entire walk looking down at her encouraging her to toss at least ONE petal, but she didn’t get up the courage until I let go of her hand at the very end and she gave one little bunch a heave.  But it made my heart so happy to have her as a part of the day, and I’m glad she’ll have this experience to look back on and feel that certain sense of closeness with her Aunt Kelsey.

Here comes the bride! My sister’s dress was absolutely perfect for her, and my Dad is notorious for keeping a straight face on even through the most emotional moments.  He actually fell asleep in the living room of my parent’s house right before the ceremony.  You can tell he’s just soaking it all in here, and I love that about my dad.

My sister wanted a small wedding party, but our younger sisters Hadley and Tenley were still a huge part of the day! I love that their bright dresses complemented the green surroundings and feminine touches of Kelsey’s theme.  This is also the only picture where we’re not laughing and/or making awkward jokes, which is totally appropriate.

The big kiss!  Now, a little background to this pic.  I’m standing ever so slightly to the left of my sister, and right after the smooch, Morgan the minister proceeded to announce my sister and Jeff as husband and wife.  I was doing my Matron of Honor duties and preparing her for the walk back down the aisle when I saw a SPIDER in her veil. What would you do? Interrupt this picturesque moment to casually fish a pest out of my sister’s impeccable bridal outfit? Let her walk back down the aisle and risk that the spider would crawl into her hair and create mass chaos? Simply stare at the devious creature and hope that it would realize it’s prescence was unwelcome and float away? As it turned out, there was no good opportunity to snatch the arachnid, so I waited until Kelsey came back around to dismiss her guests and found the little devil had dropped to her dress.  A quick flick and he was gone, tragedy avoided. Thank goodness!

momdad

This shot of my parents is right after the ceremony, but who knows what they were talking about!  My mom found the most perfect dress for the occasion as well, and can we just talk about how fabulous she looks for a minute?! That woman has given birth to six children and just turned 50 last year.  How is that even genetically possible to still look this great?!

reception

The entire wedding took place on my parent’s property, so the ceremony was in our front yard and the reception was just a short walk to the open field adjacent to the house.  Weather at the end of May in Indiana can be hit or miss, but it ended up being perfect.  Low humidity, just a slight breeze, and not a cloud in the sky.  Her colors were gray, silver, pink, and white, and the theme focused on soft, feminine touches and natural settings. My mom put in so much effort in the details, and I think her and Kelsey’s vision came together beautifully.

hug

Call me selfish, but this may be my favorite shot so far. It’s after I gave my Matron of Honor speech (which I was completely stressed out about), and I’m so glad ISPhotographic captured such a sweet moment.  Pretty sure I’m gonna treasure this one forever.
smile

Now THAT’S a good-looking couple. Multiple people mentioned to me how beautiful Kelsey and Jeff’s babies will be. I have to say I agree. 🙂
dipThe final shot of the night! Kelsey and Jeff took off for Jamaica the following day, and they are just about to return home.  I can’t wait to find out all of Kelsey’s thoughts from the wedding, and the honeymoon.  I discovered it is so much FUN when your sister gets married, just being a part of the day and helping in any way you can.  So much love and happiness I could burst!

XO,

A
