Elizabeth Taylor has been called many things, and her death this week has brought about all of the facets of her life, good and bad that she will always be remembered for. In our humble opinion, this legend of both screen and style should be memorialized for living life to the fullest. More importantly, for daring to live glamorously, without apology and without regard for what others may say. I distinctly remember receiving a bottle of White Diamonds one year for Christmas and thinking it was quite possibly the most luxurious thing I’d ever owned. She had an impact on fans of film and fashion around the world.
In addition to her legendary style, Elizabeth Taylor led the way in the fight for the cure of HIV/AIDS when other celebrities were simply afraid to do so. She was a friend to Michael Jackson when the entire world had turned their back on him. She understood that while her fame could be used for a life of luxury, it was also her responsibility to be a voice for the less fortunate, or the misunderstood. For that, and for many other reasons, today’s Under the Influence post is dedicated to her memory, and to the iconic beauty we will never forget.
A career like Taylor’s that spans decades is hard to capture in one outfit collage, but we knew we needed at least three things: eye-popping jewelry, sex appeal, and a whole lot of glamour.

And finally, we leave you with a clip from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Taylor’s beauty absolutely steals the scene in this film and her style is perfectly a lady, yet just enough sexy thrown in. And as a side note, can we just say how flipping hot Paul Newman is?
